Welcome to our website and basically to our Blog. We are Vicki and Fred Schiessl and in September2019 we both officially retired. Fred was a high school teacher and coach, volunteer firefighter, real estate agent and gentleman farmer. Vicki was an emergency room nurse, employee health nurse over 2 hospitals and several clinics covering two counties in Western Washington. We both decided that travel was much more important than work. So we sold our farm to our daughter, (at the family rate) bought a Class A motorcoach and have basically been on the road ever since.

We’ve been traveling for the past 2 years in our 2012 Itasca Suncruizer which we now call home. We tow a 2011 Ford escape so we have transportation where we land. Our general rule of thumb is as follows: 1) On days we travel we try to get on the road no earlier than 9 am. 2) We generally try to travel no more than 150 – 200 miles in a day. 3) We try to get off the road no later than 3 pm. 4) Finally, and most importantly, we try to have an adult beverage in hand by 4 pm. Sometimes we don’t always succeed, but at least we’ve set attainable goals!

Our constant companions on this journey are our two fur babies, Annie and Roxie. Annie is a Besenji/Corgi mix who was rescued from a dog fighting ring. She doesn’t play well with other dogs and was therefore unadoptable. We took her in and she adores Fred. Our other dog is Roxie. She is an Australian Shepard and sadly has a benign tumor on her optic nerves which has made her blind. While she started with us on farm, the RV life has really done her well as the small area she now resides in makes her live simple, yet bearable. They both get plenty of exercise going on long walks and so do we.

We look forward to sharing our upcoming adventures on a weekly basis. Both of us look forward to your comments on our blog. All that we ask is that the comments are respectful and not an attack on our opinions if they differ from yours. We certainly are all about free speech, but if we find comments in bad taste, hurtful, or way out of line, we will remove it and block you. That being said, sit back, kick your feet up and enjoy our adventures.
