The Canadian Nuptials

This week has been filled with Las Vegas, friends and experiences. Although mostly nice, we ran into a stretch of cold weather even for Las Vegas on Monday. Definitely not shorts weather. One of the first things we did on arrival was reprovision. That meant groceries, clothes and gummies. Vicki also finally got her hair cut and highlighted. All I can say is WOW! She was a knock-out before but now she has hit it out of the park

We took a tour of the Van Goeh exhibit at Aria on our first day here. If you have the time whether you’re an art aficionado or not, this is a must-see experience. Several of his paintings are put in motion, choregraphed to music, both classical and modern, and they take up the entire room to include the floor. You are totally immersed in Van Goeh. It is breathtaking and if you have the opportunity it is so worth it.

On Monday, we got together with our Canadian Connection for a wonderful pre wedding dinner and chat. As the smiles on all faces tells of what a good time we had. We dined at Claim Jumpers in the Golden Nugget and afterwards left about $40 to help build roads and schools here in Las Vegas.

The wedding day finally arrived. Although the wind was blowing in gusts of 20+ mph, the temperatures were in the 40’s, and it was outside, it was a beautiful wedding. So happy for our friends Ron and Shar. Was so much fun being the American contingent at what was otherwise a Canadian Affair. A good day, eh!

After the wedding we heading to Lawry’s Steakhouse in Las Vegas and had a seriously delicious prime rib dinner. Enjoyed champagne, Jamison’s and Manhattans as we celebrated the nuptials. Thank goodness for an Uber as we finally made it home at 11:30. That’s way past our bedtime, but we sure had fun. Congratulations again to Mr. & Mrs. Monk! And did I mention, we are still loving retirement.
