Episode 9 : New England where they paak their caa in the haabaar!

We have put New York in the Rearview mirror and continue our trek east to the New England States. Had a beautiful drive through the mountains of Vermont. Stopped at a roadside brewery for a fantastic lunch of Rueben Sandwich for me and a spicy grilled cheese for Vicki. An amazing discovery and a nice break after 80 miles of curvy roads.

We finally landed in Tuxbury 1000 Pot holes resort after a GPS incident. As we were making our way through the winding back roads of New Hampshire, we arrived at the GPS destination. Problem was that there were hand written signs saying there is no campground entrance. Apparently a developer had bought the entrance road and put up a housing development. So Vicki drove ahead and scouted what we thought was an entrance. No luck. So we finally pulled into a parking lot and called the Thousand Trails office. Turned out the park entrance was not in New Hampshire as their RV Trip Wizard address indicated, but rather an address in Massachusetts. Turned out we had taken a right turn instead of a left, but we eventually arrived at our destination. No worries, it’s just our trials and tribulations as full time RVer’s.

Back in New Hampshire, we have been joined by Vicki’s Aunt Teresa until the end of June. She had been visiting Montreal and saw she was only 130 miles away so happy to join us on our escapades. We needed to find a cot for her, which we did and only 3 miles away from a wonderful retired couple.

While in Tuxbury Pond we were able to do some exploreng in Salem, Glouster, and Boston. We spent two fun days in Salem and were able to explore some cheesy witch museums. Also added some healing stones to our collection as well as having some wonderful New England Cuisine. Vicki and Teresa also had a photo session as you can see. We also went to Glouster to see the Fisherman’s shrine memorial where the Movie The Perfect Storm was based on. Was moved as I read the names of those lost on the Andrea Gail. We then went to a recommended restaurant and had a wonderful lobster roll and a ginormous key lime pie.

Working on a spell to get me to put the seat down!!

We then went into downtown Boston and went to the Tea Party Museum and picked up a little Revolutionary War History. Sadly they didn’t accurately portray some of the pieces of the start of the war, but it was still interesting. We then got lunch from a circle of food trucks and enjoyed eating in a park bench. We then drove by the building used in Boston Legal. Enroute we drove by Cheers but there was a line that stretched around the block, so hard pass. We have plans to go back to the Art Museum and hopefully catching a Red Sox game at Fenway.

We have avoided most of the heat dome as we have had some serious thunderstorms. Just downpours and scary thunder which drives Roxie nuts. Just glad we missed TS Alberto as it hit Brownsville, but talking with folks, it wasn’t as devastating as predicted. Other than that, not too much else to report. But did I mention, we’re still living retirement.
